What is the deadline for compliance?

Buildings that were already at or past the required age when SB 4D took effect (July 1, 2022) had until December 31, 2024, to complete their initial milestone inspection. Newer buildings must complete their inspection by the applicable milestone age. Check with your local building official for your specific deadline.

What happens if problems are found?

If Phase 1 reveals substantial structural deterioration, Phase 2 testing is required. Based on the findings, the building owner or condo association must develop a repair plan and include necessary funds in their reserve study.
